Check Out My YouTube
I have my YouTube channel live and I’m slowly putting together work that done in my spare time and for others there. I also have some Let’s Plays from over the years to just show how passionate I am and that I love to play as work as work on games.
Here is a breakdown of how I have planed out this YouTube channel. Of course all best plan go awry and so think of these as guidelines that I'm following with possible exceptions in the future.
Here’s how the game side of my channel will work:
Game Demos: I make little game demos in different engines to focus on sound integration. These are usually very small and focus on a single sound design aspect. The videos come in one of three ways: No commentary Let’s Play, where I play the demo with no commentary or face cam, so the viewer can focus on the sound design aspect. Commentary Let’s Play, where I play the demo explaining the details or the reasoning behind different parts of the demo. Behind the Scenes Let’s Play, where I screen capture the making of the demo with commentary and then play the finished version.
Historical Let’s Plays: I play and research the history of some of the classics. Those games that have made an impact on the gaming world in some way. Some might be obscure and some might have large franchises behind them. As I play these games I’ll drop little facts I have learned through my research. I always leave my sources for such information in the descriptions of the video.
Miscellaneous Let’s Plays: These are usually blind Let’s Plays where I’ve done little to no research and just play the game. Some of the games are suggestions from friends/family and some are just backlogged from my Steam library.
Independent Horror Let’s Plays: I play games from Game Jams or some popular horror games usually made by a very little development team. I’m a huge fan of indie horror games, but I’m also a scaredy cat so you might see a furry companion with me for moral support.
Here’s how the music side of my channel will work:
Audio Stories: Voice acted short stories that I write the music and sound effects for. I have some interesting stories lined up from different writers and up and coming voice actors.
Compositions: These are various works that I have done through the years. They range from solo guitar pieces to symphonies. For the instruments I play I record those parts and mix them with VST Samples to give a fully realized version of the music. The sheet music to these are not free and have copyrights pending. However, I post several selections on my Patreon for those who donate.
Game Music: For many of my Let’s Plays I’ll dive into the music to either record a faithful performance of the music with the instruments I play or a cover I arranged myself. I always credit the original creators in the descriptions of my videos as well as their links for those interested to check out.
Lo-fi Music: I’ll have a playlist of random lo-fi styles of music I write. I find these to be more a stream of consciousness writing that I personally find relaxing. I use certain tracks at the beginning and end of my videos while I’m talking.
Personal Contemporary Songs: These are like the first album I have uploaded. Any singles or EPs I write will be here. The style can range from indie singer-songwriter to rock. I don’t limit myself to a certain genre.
